Imaging Best Practices
- Only load Network drivers onto the Windows PE boot images.
- Always use a virtual machine to build reference images.
- Never use a Panasonic demo unit as a image master.
- Panasonic's OEM license does not support mass-deployments. Purchase the Volume License Conversion, which upgrades the OEM license to Professional Volume License.
- Panasonic suggests performing wipe-and-loads instead of in-place upgrades.
- Use the “Powershell App Deploy Toolkit” to wrap silent application installations.
- Use the http://panasonicdeployment.com site to locate the latest driver packages.
- Use Enterprise CAB driver packages over One-Click Bundles, if possible.
- Wireless WAN driver packages are hosted on our http://business.panasonic.com/support-computerstablets-otherdownloads-wirelesscarrier site.
- When encountering issues, download the latest Intel LAN driver from http://downloadcenter.intel.com
- Use x64 Boot images, because they support both legacy and UEFI system BIOSes.
In SCCM:
- We suggest to use the "Apply Driver Package" and not the "Auto Apply Drivers".
- If vendor is deploying image, provide vendor a “Pre-staged Media”.
- Integrate MDT extensions into SCCM for additional functionality.
